Have as much Fun as is Safe, and Keep SMILIN! GT,

About twenty years ago I tried to hitch hike from Pendleton, OR to Pocatello, ID. In the end I ended up riding my bicycle the entire way, less forty miles when I got picked up by a man who claimed he had reversed his mental illness by drinking vinegar, and who smoked Camel studs for his health. I was desperate not to ride that last forty miles, so despite not having eaten anything for two days, I split a quart of white vinegar and half a pack of Camels with him to keep the peace. I already had dysentery, and the combo of vinegar, diarrhea and cigarettes still haunts me.

Hope your trip is better than mine was. If you've got the cash, I'd recommend the bus.

Good God man, what was your life like growing up?

Well, I assume it was a several hundred mile bicycle ride. No food for Days. Sick as a dog. I'll bet if he couldn't afford to eat, there wasn't any staying in motels involved. I'm not at all knocking him, there were times in my life that were similar and I made it.
It just doesn't sound like he had a silver spoon in his mouth if you know what I mean.

Jesus man, the thought of drinking a half of quart of vinegar on an empty stomach, while smoking camels riding through what I assume was really out in the sticks, with a self professed insane person. You can't make that stuff up.
