Someone here has to be smart enough to figure out how to turn it into 100LL.... if you do, you'll be able to afford many airplanes, barns and landing strip and you'll thank me Maybe REI should look into it

Diesel is $4.51 a gal. here. Ouch!

Mt, I get a good chuckle when I hear you guys whine about price of fuel in the lower 48! here diesel is going for 1.39 per liter ($5.56 Gal) and the Avgas at $2.20 per liter ($8.80 Gal)... crazy eh, so I wouldnt mind this invention to work... even if it means that I have to spend couple afternoons field dressing old tires!!

I like the plastic idea also. Here is another one I like.

Ethanol is selling for about $2.50 a gallon, unsubsidized. Futures prices are going down into next year, while oil is increasing again----what can you do about that? Nothing.

I guess the question is "how much is the NET energy gain?" To spend the time/effort/energy to round up discarded plastic there needs to be a pretty good 'net' energy gain..... Or is this something else that has to be subsidized?
Just askin' since that thing is plugged in.....

I guess only time will tell.
