She would have been ok if he would have finished the landing.

I thought it looked alright, til it dropped like a rock from about 15-20 feet above the ground . But of course coulda been a hell of a lot worse

Ditto. Wasn't the nicest terrain they were over. and lucky there were no wires over the road. probably not much damage to the craft either. Pretty successful forced landing id say.

Looks to me like he was busy chasing a crow.....then had a engine problem.....maybe fuel starvation.....almost caught a power line over the roadway and then pushed it a little fast...maybe another power line up ahead?? That "turn ahead" road sign sure put the brakes on the landing.

You can see the power line at 1:05-1:06 on the time bar.

Glad to see nobody seriously hurt.

Yep. Hindsight is 20/20 and overall this guy did pretty well.

Sure looks like the shut off valve in the blue fuel line running to the engine was shut off??
Had lots of fuel! in both tanks

Doh! Poor guy. I had one of those aweekamonthayear dealies on a motorcycle once. I didn't break that much stuff though!

Engine was still running. I'd say less than 10% of 2 stroke engine outs are due to mechanical failure of the engine itself. Almost all of them are for fuel starvation. Another case of a bad fuel system I'm guessing. More ammo for the 2 smoke haters I guess. I'll keep flying mine into the backcountry

I'm with you! I will take mine anywhere. Most of the haters are the ones who have never flown them, but heard from so and so that they are dangerous. Kinda like the bad rap the pacer got cause guys didnt know how to use their feet.

I would say its fuel starvation and guys not knowing how to run a stroke and the nuances that they have. Not much different than a guy that has flown fixed pitch all his life and makes the switch to CS. He (she, they, what ever) has to learn what that other knob in the panel is for and how you use it to keep the engine happy.

Things were looking pretty good until he went off the road & down the bank. WTF? Got her down & just turned loose of everything? I've seen some pilots do that on runways.

HR150, I think that road sign had just a bit to do with the right turn!, It was pointing that way anyway
