Anyone familiar with UT83 Thunder Ridge ,Utah airpark ?sometimes called Bandanna Ranch I have opportunity to get some property there -5 aches may split up in 3-5 separate plots.Info on taxes and water availability also needed.On runway frontage , thinking of a cooler spot than AZ-Nevada.I know this is near Ski areas -but I don't ski. For me it's a summertime retreat> maybe a 5th. wheel and shade hanger .Think the runway is about 4000 ft.long paved at about 7000 ft. msl . Close to Idaho -Wyoming -Montana and northwest . We used to belong to a hunting club (long story - the guy who owned it lost it all for putting in an airstrip - on forest service land without asking. Bulldozed hundred of trees) next to Bandana Ranch years ago. Great hunting up there. I would not say that it's particularly close to any ski resorts, not by Utah standards anyway. It's probably a 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive in the winter to the Park City resorts. You could fly from there to the Heber Valley airport, then drive 20 minutes to Park City.
We look at the strip every once in a while as we fly by, but I've never landed there. I can't remember if they clear it in the winter, but I don't think they get a lot of snow right there at the airstrip, so it's probably clear most of the time anyway.
There is good fishing nearby on various streams and lakes.
I have no idea about water or taxes or power. I would guess they could answer those questions. We looked at getting some property there maybe 10 years ago, but it was just one of about 10 sites we were looking at. Never bought any of them, I decided it was better to have friends with cabins instead!
