UV rays VS: fuel hose

My fuel hose is hung on a tire rim on the dock. Sun shines on it. Any ideas how to keep the UV off of it without having to build a box over it? Visible @ front of house so can't be an "eyesore".

Re: UV rays VS: fuel hose

I built a little tin shed, the same color tin as the hangar it is outside of, for my 300 gallon bulk tank, and I keep my 30' refueling hose in it, under the tank so out of the sun. I like that the tank is also shaded, as that may help with evaporative losses? I took a neighbor flying the other day, and as he was watching me put the hose away, he (who is in the fluid handling/hose business for commercial industrial uses) commented "you need a takeup reel". That would be sweet but a couple hundred bucks at least I'd guess, and I'd still want to keep it out of the sun.

I did build a shed over my bulk tank, buried the hose to the dock, but it's exposed where it hangs on the rim. Can't have the tank near the lake. I think what I'll do is find some UV resistant material & make a Superman cape to hang over it. Sheathing the hose would be too bulky to hang on the rim. What is Superman's cape made of?

We've got this stuff we put over our hoses, but more for anti-chafe where they're dragged on the ground. It's almost like a gore-tex material that velcros together around the original hose. Maybe you can get something like that made for cheaper than a new hose every few years?
