Variable cost 182A

Hello guys,
have searched the forum but did not find what I am looking for.
Is $160.00 per hour enough to cover variable costs (fuel, oil, scheduled maintenance and engine overhaul) for a 182A? Am researching this in order to negogiate with the owner as I might be operating/managing it for him.

Thanks
Mike

Re: Variable cost 182A

That’s probably pretty fair, if not a little high. I have a ‘56 182 and I ballpark around $115/hr for operation, but I’ve never made much of an attempt to figure out the true cost. One time I tried to add up my fuel receipts for the year, I quit after 4 months

On second thought, $160 is probably dead on. That should leave some money for unexpected mx, I’ve had a few of those that were spendy.

Re: Variable cost 182A

Prefer it to be on the high side just for that reason, being an older 182 needing some tlc. Good thing is that the engine has about 30 hours smoh done a frew month ago. Interior was "modernized" think it has c206 seats. Look heavy. Rest has to be gone over. W&b hasnt been done in ages. Altimeters transponder pitot sistem checks etc. are expired. Seat rail AD to be determined. So right there I figure about $2000 .
Not buying it. Just checking into operating it comercualy for the owner.
