Vid of Touch and Go's on a ski resort!

Joey,
That is cool. Reminds me of the Beaver boys that used to do the "Hail Mary" departures from the glacers and ice flows in Alaska. I guess they would land on a steep upslope, kick it sideways at the top, then launch going downhill and over the edge of a cliff or precipice. According to the stories they hardly ever had rotation speed and would just push the nose over until they reached flying speed. Sometimes they would be near vertical. At least the accelerate/stop distance was easy to calculate.

Echo Alpha,
Looking at that vid again it looks like that hill is steep enough that even at full power you probably couldn't power your way up it. It could get ugly in a hurry if you didn't have enough speed to make the turn at the top. I have a bad vision of an airplane sliding down a ski resort upside down. Done correctly though it looks like a kick in the pants! Flying off snow is fun. Here's a shot of me in Libby Mt with my Powered Parachute on skis. No cockpit whatsoever get's a bit nippy but if you dress properly the flying doesnt get any better than the dead of winter.
