video camera suggestions

i'm starting to look on ebay for a digital video camera to mount in the airplane & record the adventure.
trouble is, i don't know the slightest thing about video cameras. i'm looking for one that is easy to use. maybe one that
handles vibration well & has a clear picture & maybe is fairly small. i would also like to get the intercom audio into it somehow.

i'm looking on ebay, so brands & model numbers would be appreciated.

thanks

Re: video camera suggestions

Kelly,

One thing I did learn is the Sony HD that records on a hard drive doesn't tolerate the vibration and shuts off to protect the driver. I am experimenting with a Sony that uses Tape and all is well but the quality is not great.

If your not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Hey you need to talk to Greg. He has been seriously experimenting with airplane mounted cameras. Here is a link to one of his video sites.

He has been making short movies of our weekend adventures. Seems he has a different camera every week. I know he has a remote operated 3 axis camera mount coming this week. I can't wait to see what we get into with this. If you don't make contact, pm me, and I'll send you his email address. John

Funny I just found his site this morning and emailed him about our airplanes. LOL

Many of the hard drive camcorders have the option to also record to SD cards which can handle the vibration.

I've heard (and read) that the Canon Vixia series are getting good reviews and they are High Def.
