Video: Six Months of Amazing Memories

A video of some of my favorite memories from the past 6 months. I'm amazed at how many neat flights didn't make the cut, and reminded once again of how truly blessed I am to get to enjoy the world from above.

Very cool. I especially appreciated the mars-scape portion. I flew over that earlier this year on my trip to Canada, but was at 14,500 feet and didn't appreciate what I was seeing.

Definitely coming and flying your country next year.

White spire at the beginning is Chalk Butte near Pinedale. Big bench in the middle is Dolores Point, and I'm not sure what they call the big red ridge but it's between Moab and Mack Mesa.

I'm just a hick from Wyoming, but it still boggles my mind that something I slapped together here on the ranch is being enjoyed so far away.

Thanks, Zane, for creating this cool universe where we can all share and enjoy the beauty in each other's worlds. =D>

Re: Video: Six Months of Amazing Memories

One of the great things about aviation is that it brings people together from all walks of life, from all around the world. All too often people are pitted against each other. Age, race, religion, political belief, social status, income... it all fades when we can talk flying. And especially backcountry flying. It seems that we share a love of nature and that as bc pilots we always need to look out for each other. I really enjoy this forum and I wish I lived closer to you all so I could come to some of these fly ins and meet you all in person and have a beer or three.

It is being enjoyed all over the world, from Scandinavia to El Salvador, to Chile, to Australia and New Zealand. Boggles the mind, doesn't it? As Floatsnskis says: " one of the great things about aviation is that it brings people together from all walks of life! from all around the world". There might be differences between us, but aviation is a common bond that transcends all those differences.

Truthfully, as a Latin American, I have experienced discrimination from people that don't even know me (although I am Caucasian and look American). But, in the world of aviation, I have NEVER, EVER been treated with anything less than respect and fraternal bond.

Thank you all!

The video was great. I believe the quote was from Leonardo da Vinci wasn't it?

You were the Spruce Bruce™ chase plane in that one scene! Really cool scapes man. I'm pleased to have almost met you a couple times. We have to ask, where would any of us be without Zane-babes and the BCP phenom? We'd be lost people yearning for the old man hanging out near the fuel pump to speak up and ask us, "is that a Husky or is that Maule?".

Greg, it's better this way--I'm not as likable in person. The only downside for me is I have to keep referring to you as "the elusive legend known as..."

Scott, I've seen the quote attributed to Da Vinci, but I don't think he said it:

This must be the most famous aviation quote that is not a verifiable quote. It is attributed everywhere (including some Smithsonian publications and the Washington Post newspaper) to Leonardo da Vinci, but I've never found definitive source information. Neither did some nice folks I talked with at National Geographic Magazine, who contacted one of the world's leading Leonardo authorities in Italy as part of a long research process and were told that Leonardo da Vinci did not write it. http://www.skygod.com/quotes/index.html

Re: Video: Six Months of Amazing Memories

Oh well in that case, I said it first. I just give DA Vinci credit because the old boy tried so hard.
