Video taking my floatplane out of the water
Information and discussion about seaplanes, float planes, and water operations.
This is a video of me taking my C182 to a nearby airport and removing it from the water. I didnt spent too much time editing, but i figure is better to watch a poor seaplane video than a blizzard out my window,.....

You need a rig like this, when I took an intro ride out in BC last year.

There were several similar rigs there, powered by cut off front-drive autos.

Looks like a slick operation Garth, the trip from the water to the airport is about as good as it gets. Are you back on wheels for the winter?

No Steve - sitting in the hanger on floats right now. I just put my name in for property at that airport where you see in the video and I have plans for a 60x 42 hanger in the spring. Once I have my own, I'll switch to wheels each winter.

Thank you for the Vid. I was scheduled to do my SEL yesterday and today at Sheble but instructor examiner has the flu. I have an old jump 182 that we will be putting the Seaplanes West mod on and having fun with it. How do you like the scimitar for water ops? Spray Erosion?

Prop is good - decent thrust and about 60 hours on the water with little or no spray erosion

It is possible to fly without motors, but not without knowledge and skill.
