Here is my Angle of Attack and Angle of Sideslip gauge in action. The rod is at the same angle as the wing (cord) and the black arrows point directly into the relative wind at all times. This makes it easy to see the changing angle of attack. The green area is low angle of attack (cruise, etc.). The white area is maneuvering AOA and the red area shows high angle of attack and impending stall. Actually being able to see it might help students understand the importance of the angle of attack. I'll have a followup video focusing on the Angle of Sideslip arrow shortly.
