We made a couple visits to Snake Island (aka North Fox Island) and have to thank The RAF and all the volunteers for helping to get a really special resource back online and available to aviators. It's fabulous!

1) When I first got that plane the tires had worn unevenly and vibrated if left to spin in the wind after take off. So I developed the habit of tapping the brakes to stop them. That habit persists to this day even though I have much better tires.

Interesting that you noticed that...
1) When I first got that plane the tires had worn unevenly and vibrated if left to spin in the wind after take off. So I developed the habit of tapping the brakes to stop them. That habit persists to this day even though I have much better tires.
2) That footage was sped up a bit to make it more entertaining to watch, so the gap between breaking ground and tapping the brakes essentially disappears.
Thanks for commenting though. Maybe next time it will be something that I need to fix!
CamTom12 wrote:I noticed that too. We got taught in the C-12 course to tap the brakes before retracting the gear, so out of habit I do it in my plane as well. I just figured you had retract time.
