Wagner Field Fly In TR

The Stearman is bedded down in a museum for the winter and the 180 is in the capable hands at Beegles for a few months, so what to do? Catch a ride to the cool little word of mouth fly in at Wagner Field in the valley. Great little duster strip, perfect autumn weather and a great turn out. Nothing back country about it but as it turns out BCP was well represented.

The ride, Wittman Tailwind - really quick little machine

It was a quick trip over for AvidFlyer

HarryV's capable machine, one of probably a dozen cub variants that showed

Fly ins just feel right with a T-cart in the pattern

Really cool early Fairchild

The short-wing Pipers do their thing on departure

No duster strip fly-in would be complete without a Stearman hopping rides

Hey don't blame me! Joey did send me a text about it but stacey and I were flying out to Half Moon Bay for lunch. We were going to stop by afterwards but figured everyone would be gone by the time we got there.

Headed out on tuesday, this was my last hurrah for the season.

Last year I didn't run into any other BCPers at this one, this year got much better attendance. Put it on the calendar for next year, they said it'll go again last weekend in Oct. Not much flying beyond getting there and home, more like throw your hot dogs on the grill and tell some lies for an hour or two. There's something cool about duster strips though.
