Warm Springs, ID

Just currious where the trail to the hot springs is located in relation to the Warm Springs airstrip. Is it well marked or signed? How long of a hike is it to get to the springs? Any other insite or words of wisdom?

Also, a brief internet search shows that the next big fly in is the round engine group at Smiley Creek starting the 28th. Are there any others going on next week that I didn't see posted?

Thanks,

Search for bonneville hot springs on google maps. 10 minute walk form the strip.

FYI, the Round Engine Round-Up is this coming Thursday evening June 28 through Sunday morning at the Aeromark hangar at Idaho Falls. The Saturday morning fly-out this year is to West Yellowstone—NOT to Smiley Creek.

Trail to the hot springs starts at the north end of the runway, goes down the hill and thru the USFS campground. The campground at the runway is State of Idaho P&R. On summer weekends expect plenty of people.

Re: Warm Springs, ID

Thank you for the replies, that was just the info I needed. And thanks for the clarification on the round engine fly in Ted, thier website led me to believe it was Smiley.

I was thinking about visiting the strip on Monday morning so not the weekend but being that it's summer it might warrant a fly over to see how busy it is first. I may just continue to Smiley and swim in the lakes! Hoping for a quiet few week days with my son!

Maybe I'll see some of you out and about!
