Weights for Goodyear 26" "Blimp Tires"

Somebody recently asked about weights for Goodyear tires on this forum. I just placed my lightly-used set on a 70lb shipping scale that I own. Here's what I got for tires and 8:50 Tubes:

With Tubes:
#1 26 lb, 5.5 oz
#2 25 lb, 15.0 oz

Without Tubes:
#1 22 lb, 13.0 oz
#2 22 lb, 7.0 oz

Tubes Only:
#1 3 lb, 8.5 oz
#2 3 lb, 7.7 oz

My old W&B indicates 39 lbs for tires and tubes with 8:50x6 McCreary's

Re: Weights for Goodyear 26" "Blimp Tires"

I just put new 26 in good yrs and tubes from Desser on my maule. They were 25.7 pounds each. I replaced 850 mccreary tires and tubes that were 18.4 each.]

I'm looking for some used wheels for my Maule M5210 C They are cleveland 40-97D's.

I think you mean 3.85/3.77 lbs for the tubes.

I dont remember the exact number, but my 26" GY's on wheels weighed about 5lbs more each than a 29x11 GarAero tire/wheel combo a buddy had laying around. And my new 29" Airstreaks are quite a bit lighter than both of those setups, and WAAAAAAY nicer in the rough stuff.

You might try calling Preferred Airparts, they advertise in TAP. I bought a replacement Cleveland wheel (one) from them years ago, for quite a bit less than list price. They specialize in NOS ("new old stock") parts.
