My dad, Motorcitymaule and me went into Mexican Hat today for lunch. The strip was in very good shape. And the food is good also. I have friends that own the San Juan Inn, which is a couple miles down the road. They offer all 3 meals, deserts, and alcohol, and rooms. They are happy to pick anyone up at the strip, and bring them back,with prior notice. The number at the inn is 800.447.2022

Yesterday was a really good time. Mexican Hat was nice and soft, made for a good landing but just a little hard to taxi. The flight over was fun too!
I pretty much found a spot on the river that i'm gonna use for an off field, no one will ever see in the middle of Utah desert, camping spot that looks similiar to the grand canyon. It was great to fly from winter conditions with tons of snow to the Utah desert were it felt like the begining of spring season. the food was ok too. Petar

Hey Motorcity, I won't tell on ya', but if that off-airport spot is downstream of Mexican Hat, I'd be careful, those pesky parkies ( )patrol the river rather often in their C206, even in the winter. How do I know? I used to do it myself.
