West Side Lake Berryessa NorCal

Anybody familiar with this strip on the west side of Lake Berryessa NorCal up on a hill? There a picnic table next to the strip and an outhouse to boot. It’s about 1,500 ft long with an upslope and about 1,300 feet elevation.

Re: West Side Lake Berryessa NorCal

Oh yeah. Had been there a few times with no issues, then one day a few years ago I landed there and there was a guy just down the hill from the runway hunting that I didn't see. He was extremely unpleasant bordering on threatening. (holding a big gun). I haven't been back, though it's been a long time, who knows what may have changed. There are other places to land around there, I'm frequently on the east side of the lake where there are some smoothish areas just above the waterline.

Great, I flew over again today after Steambat and noticed there is a trailer close by with a 4 wheeler.

Yup. Landed there once years ago. No issues.

FYI It is a private home and strip and the house is not far to the south. There is usually someone around keeping an eye out for visitors, not always welcome.

This should be the take-away.
Private strip, ask permission--
simple common courtesy.
