Wet wing fuel tank sealing without wing removal
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
Evening, anyone encountered a method of sealing tanks from inspection ports, rather than pulling the wing and rivets? This is on a home built Murphy Rebel to be clear.
I’ve got a wet wing leak from a rivet line that was improperly prosealed in construction, and it’s accelerating. Ideally, I’d find a solution to spray the tank with an epoxy type coating from the inspection ports, something thin enough to capillary into the rivet lines. I understand this may be wishful thinking, and comes with risks such as if the product starts delaminating or deteriorating. I’d plumb individual filters after any such treatment I find.
Let me know if you guys have encountered a product that would fit the bill, or even a bladder manufacturer who could make one to form fit.

I did a Mooney probably 30 years ago, with some candy red paint on solution, that I'm fairly sure we got from Mooney, but I'll be darned if I can think of the name. Sorry I'm not more help, but it might be a direction to search.

God put me here to accomplish a certain amount of things...right now I'm so far behind, I'll never die!!
Ardent,
This has been discussed on the murphybuilders.net site. Dont recall the exact particulars, but there are many poster willing to help with advice.
Tell me about your Rebel. I'm a huge Rebel fan.

Thanks, and sorry for the radio silence been busy flying and in the bush. Have a recently acquired Rebel on amphibs, O-320, that leaks about 10L an hour from one wing. I ended up buying PRC “Slosh and Seal” I think it’s called from ‘Spruce, and I’ll update how it goes.
