Re: What editing Software for Video

How 'bout us Windoze guys who are cheap, want it to be simple with reasonably good results?
I'm not into paying for fancy options that I couldn't/wouldn't learn how to use. I'd only use it once in awhile.
Thanks (I hope)

I'm not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer. So I like stuff intuitive and simple. I found Cyberlink's power director very easy to use (PC). Almost idiot proof. Plus it's got a built in youtube uploader. That's a big plus and a time saver.

Im not much of a techy either. I use windows movie maker. Find it pretty simple to use and also has a YouTube/facebook uploader. Works well for what I do.

Re: What editing Software for Video

I use Adobe Premier 6

If you have any experience with Final Cut and was a huge fan, but when they launched their new version and changed the UI I switched. It took one night to learn Premier.

I use GoPro cameras. GoPro 1, 2, and 3. I import footage that's everything from 720P 30fps to 2K 30. Premier handles it all really easily.

If you don't know how to use an advanced editor like Premier, don't worry. Pay $25 dollars for a 1 month subscription to Lynda.com and watch the video tutorials. You'll be a pro in no time.

If you just want to clip and move around clips, perhaps convert to a different format MPEG Streamclip is freeware for the cost of downloading.

Re: What editing Software for Video

I bought the Magix Edit Pro software for editing my .mov files.

It is so complicated and cumbersome to use, it's almost useless. When I did finally figure it out, it would crash my computer due to it's extreme hardware needs.

Total waste of money ($69).

For cheap windoze guys, like myself, movie maker works fine. It might not have some of the fancy effects but for a nice basic video of my own flicks that I still watch over and over again, it's fine. Remember, make the video for yourself. If others enjoy it, that's a bonus.
