What photo site are you using?

Since Photobucket lost its mind and is charging a king's ransom for the ability to post to third party sites, I am looking for a good site to park pictures for posting.

What are folks here using? Google photos looks good but cannot figure how to post images from there. I have heard Imagur is good but have not investigated much.

Thoughts?

I use flicker. I struggled with it at first but now I think it is mostly ok. They have a good app that makes uploading pics easy.

Re: What photo site are you using?

I appreciate this information. Photobucket had gotten worse and worse to use, locking up frequently and being constantly splashed with ads that covered the whole page--and then without any warning to speak of, coming in with a $400/year fee. So I'll try the others mentioned here, and see how they work out.

TEST of Imgur.

Looks like this works well using the BBcode option in the view and post options.

Cary and others,

Is the image visible to you? I can see it but possibly permissions lock others out.

Re: What photo site are you using?

For those of us who are on the verge on not buying green bananas these sites can be a bit of a mystery.

What I found is if you hover your cursor on your image in Imgur you will see a "copy" option and a down v click on the v and click on "get share links". It looks as if the BBcode or the ShareLink options work.. Try clicking "copy" beside the BBcode and pasting that directly into the message. If that does not work try "ShareLink".

That seems to work, ask for feedback because you have permission on the image and others may not and cannot see it.

I hate taking up BB time to trouble shoot but cannot figure another way.

No clue, but my best guess is you probably will have to download the photobucket images to your computer then upload to IMGUR.

I found that the IMGUR support folks get back to you really quickly so you may want to ask them if there is a better way.

If they have good support, who pays them and from what revenue. Or are they waiting for us to get on board then send us the surprise.

I would bet Zane has an excellent grasp as to how these sites monetize their product Same question for Facebook, twitter, etc. Your information is valuable to someone.

Re: What photo site are you using?

I was going to start using IMGUR, but when you sign-up their Ts and Cs say they are totally against 3rd party hosting.
That made me think they don't want to become the next photobucket. I am leery of falling into a Photobucket trap again. What a waste of time.

If against third party hosting then why do they make so easy to do. Like this
