On that day it was two MT's. A MT-15-D/210-58 and an MT-9-D/210-58. (2 and 3 blade 83") versions.
The two blade was first, so if we were splitting hairs it may have had a 1 to 2 degree temperature favor, but in the end it didn't hold a candle to the three blade. DA was 220 +/- feet.

Again, there was no short field technique used, and either prop was capable of leaving the ground in 200' or less, under those conditions, with some technique applied.

As Russ pointed out, take off isn't everything, and IMHO even though there is only a 9# difference between the two props, the 2 blade flies nicer when slowed up. Another point worth mentioning is the 3 blade came in at less than a pound difference in weight than my C-66. The 2 blade was lighter.

Thanks for the data, that sounds like a fun test.

FWIW, I looked at the Flight Resource comparison and it has the 86" 401 at 82 lbs. According to McCauley the 86" 401 with spinner weighs 70 lbs. If so, the 3 blade MT is only 13 lbs lighter than the McCauley. Nothing to sneeze at, but roughly 1/2 the stated 25 lb weight difference.
