When to shut her down

I know that if I am not doing 42 mph indicated at the half way point I should shut her down and use the rest of the strip to stop. does the same apply to sea plane ops.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVwlodvWh7w They stopped makeing this plane a while ago. Hate to se anybody hurt and I hate to see a good plane wasted.

Re: When to shut her down

Tim,

The guy taking the video was standing at well short of the halfway point for the Lake Hood west channel. There is so much wrong with what this guy did that there isn't room on the internet.

Suffice to say, an even half way decent checkout in the Beaver could easily have prevented this.

They were very fortunate nobody got hurt.
