Frankly, that is probably one of the worst things they've ever done. Ever since, a significant industry has developed, aimed at teaching people the tests.
The FAA, as noted, is now in the process of changing the test questions, to more accurately reflect the current status of aviation. Hopefully, there won't be any more questions regarding interpretation of printed weather charts that nobody uses or even sees any more.
In the meantime, it would now appear that applicants are going to have to actually study the MATERIAL instead of the test questions and answers.
Frankly, I think that's a good thing.
