Beautiful photos and a scenic part of the US to be sure. We lived in VA for a couple of years and really enjoyed traveling through Appalachia.
Thanks for sharing, your photos bring back fond memories.

I've been by the island many times driving on highway 60---didn't know it was there. The one time I flew by Charleston, I was looking at Yeager and then looking for the New River bridge so didn't notice it. That strip is about as cool as it gets.

It is funny. I too drove route 60 probably 30 round trips per year for 25 years when I was a kayaker, and never dreamed that there was a strip on that island. I pretty much gawked at the river the whole way too.
When I wasn't driving down there, I was flying, but I was always east of Charleston. Saturday was the first time I laid eyes on it. We never saw anyone to talk to. Probably should call for permission before going back. It is narrow, but a lot of fun.
EZ - No we are safe. The guys we met were from out of state and chose to retire in West Virginia.
