This might not be the correct location for this post, but it is a destination. I joined a log time ago, but haven't had much to say, just listening. Mad as hell lately, every chance I get to fly it's foggy. Felt like I was in the air today though when I saw the Bull Run Video by Neighbor Peet. Hope you guys enjoy this, I did. Try not to pick on the landing.... I know.

Nice video. The landing looked excellent to me, not that I'm any kind of judge.
By your vimeo name, I assume you're flying a Stinson? What model, HP, mods? Any estimates on how long the gravel bar is?

Thanks, I'm glad some of you enjoyed. Thats a bunch of questions for a listener though. Wallmart special on the camera (flip video) with a ram mount. You are correct on the Stinson, 108-2 with the 165 franklin. AS for the gravel bar length, I'm not sure, as you can tell from the video it is quite long, with a lot left behind. On grass I am normaly off at around 700 ft. with full fuel and pilot.

East of Dayton - don't forget survival gear and fishing pole, very remote accessible only by air or water. Oh - I wouldn't eat the fish.

I thought so. I landed there once. Didn't fish, just left some wet rocks. Oh, that must be why you don't eat the fish?

Unfortunatly, I just found out that the my old airplane was wrecked on that bar this summer. The NTSB report makes it sound like it may have been totaled (it was a cheap plane). Finding that out kind of stings a little. I never really got attached my old trucks, but that was the first plane I owned and I still have a little soft spot for it.

What was it?
I have a soft spot for my first one too- a humble (stock) C150. I see these days that it's parked in an open hangar at a local airport. I've never seen it in the air since I sold it 11 years ago, thought it's been through at least 2 local owners. Too bad, I had a lotta fun in it and it taught me a thing or two.

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!
From Google Earth, It looks like this is the gravel bar. Just east of Dayton OR.
Looking closely, looks like an airplane in the northeast corner

It was a 160hp Pacer. I bought 50% of it just after I moved here from the midwest. That plane allowed me to see way more of the Northwest than I would have otherwise. It taught me quite a bit too. Hopefully they can put the pieces back together.
