Now and then I get tempted to add wing extensions to my 182.
It already has Sportsman and VGs, and I like the way it performs.

Has anyone added the extensions to an already Sportsman and VGs Cessna wing?
How much better it is, and how bad is the aileron authority reduced?

3 months of the year we have nasty turbulence and cross winds at my base airport, I do need as much roll authority as I can.

I have been wondering the same thing. I'd like to see how well this combo works.

Roll rate is reduced but how much rolling are you really doing at slow speed when landing. The old snap of the wing pre WingX was quick but the performance of the WingX for STOL landing is unreal! If you need the extra gross or want to shave 10knts off your landing get the WingX.

Simple. You can still do barrel rolls...But I would never admit to that...

As for crosswinds, I have not noticed that much of a big deal really. Yes you need to be on your toes a bit more but heck you flying a "Land O Matic" not a tail wheel. Get the WingX...But get some big tires first Moto...

Fork and bigger tires have been ordered and are on its way.

I approach at 50mph IAS to short strips, stall speed is 40mph power off.
Adding Wing X should reduce those speeds by how much approx?

Now there are a couple of strips I go to that I need to come slow from the side and turn final at the very the last moment, Im worried about those.

Zane that read is the one that got my craving for Wing X again.

Do you hangar the airplane? If so, how wide is the door? If it's a single plane hangar, such as a T-Hangar, you may find that the wing extensions make it a REALLY tight fit going through the door. Taking off a few position lights, etc and you'll think about removing the wing extensions.

Other than that, no down sides..
