From what I understand, Montana is tired of screwing around with the wolves.
Three bag limit.
And they are some big ass wolves!

Re: Wolf hunt in Bettles

"At the request of the two villages, Fish and Game is turning the dead wolves over to local residents for use as gifts for memorial potlatches in both villages, as well as other villages on the upper Koyukuk River, Simon said"

I am guessing the $500 hides will end up at the liquor store in Bettles...sad but true

Re: Wolf hunt in Bettles

I believe Idaho now has a 5 Wuf limit & a large taxidermist said hides are $350 for a full size Werewolf.

But as always we have a Bat Sh!t Crazy woman who "watches" you with her "dad's" rifle. I caught her watching two guys the opening morning of Wolf & Elk. Scared the poop out of me, I was done for the day & also in the area.

Sad to see the decline of the village fabric to the point that the old timers of this day need the state to kill a wolf before they can teach the people how to skin and take care of a wolf hide and carcass.

I agree Chip it has been a down hill slide for some time for their culture.
