I recently bought a new to me long wing Maule that is exactly what i was looking for.... and said that i was not changing a thing....Well here we are.
Im looking for a McCauley B2D37C224/90RA-4 for a O-540-J1A5D.

If anyone has any suggestions if this is a good setup or if there is a better one let me know.

Hi, sweet looking Maule. I sold my 86" Mac and bought an MT. The 86" is a fantastic prop. And will blow you away compared to what's on it. The MT is 20 pounds lighter than the 86" Mac. And it's a little better performing too. But spendy. I'd highly recommend the Mac or MT. That's too sweet a plane to have the prop you got now. Wup could probably help either way you go.

It might help if you post the p/n of the Mac prop you're looking for.
For example the prop on my C180 is a 2A34C201/90DA-2.

I've been searching for a long wing for quite some time. Mind if you share your story of how you found her?

If you read his post, he does have the P/N listed, unless I'm totally off my rocker.

I did the two blade. They say 3 blades are better if you get up around 300 hp. But even the 300 hp spray planes around here have 2 blades. Unless it's got hot rod mods under the hood I'd stick with two blades. Good pull and light.

All i can say it must have been meant to be... I was on computer bout 9 pm and the kids were screaming wife was griping cause i was skimming through barnstormers, trade a plane, controller exc. when i found nothing. Finally i get to bed and i need just one more peak at my favorite aviation websites when i found my new love. It was around 10:30 CST when i found the ad and realized its only 8:30 PT where the plane was so i called and after talking to owner i knew i had to have her. I sent a deposit, did my research, and then jumped on southwest to Reno to go look/buy the airplane. This was all at the end of january but after 3 days and 1200 miles i got her home. The route was from 80 miles Nw of KWMC to KHTH to KHII to KSJN to KCVN. Ive also been looking for the right maule for 5 years when i found this one. My m5 has served me well but i look forward to enjoying the m7.

I will have to wait and see what comes up. I appreciate the advise.

And if we can find a nice 88" 2 blade for A1 Skinnner's 180, then I can buy his 3 Blade Hartzell, postponing my purchase of the MT that is "slightly" out of my price range!
