WTB - airglas nose fork

I currently have the HD nose fork, block , and axle. But I am wanting to put a 8.50 on the nose and some 26" bush wheels on the mains. Does anybody happen to know where I may find just the nose fork? Maybe you've seen one laying on a shelf in a hanger somewhere?

Re: WTB - airglas nose fork

I have been looking for one also. I saw one listed on the Anchorage CL several weeks ago. Unfortunately with shipping costs it would have ended up costing nearly as much as a new one. You might have better luck getting the word out up there, seems like there are a lot more of them up there than in the lower 48. Good luck! If you find two, PM me. :)

You see a few of the old pre-STC forks turn up from time to time, unfortunately they are only legal on the airframe they were originally field approved on. Not an issue for experimental, obviously. Occasionally a STC'd one comes along. By the time you purchase the STC to go along with it you may as well buy a new one.

I've been down this road. [emoji3]

Bummer, I'd like one too, but I add up the costs of the fork, wheel, tire, labor n paperwork and man, it gets steep quick.. Need to budget $5k, just for the nose[emoji50]

That would be 7.5k Canadian. Now is not a good time for us Canadians to spend money on mods.

Re: WTB - airglas nose fork

I had the same experience as gb, found one for a fair price but with shipping and having to buy the STC I wasn't going to save much so I passed on it.

Agree Hoeschen, it's a lot of change just to put a bigger set of tires on. Does a guy really need them or just need to be one of the boys. ;)

Not wanting to get too far off topic, but lately I have been seriously considering taking the 29" Airstreaks off the S7 and going to the8.50 smoothies made by Desser (MTV, I spelled it right this time!). :) I had the 26" AIrstreaks and to be honest, they were about the perfect size on the RANS. Most of my so called 'back country flying' has been to friends strips or places that really don't need the big tires. The cost of the Bushwheels is considerable and I would rather save them for the time in the future that I need them. Besides, those big tires add quite a bit of weight.

Re: WTB - airglas nose fork

Well, I currently run 8.50's on the mains and a 7.00 on the nose, I could squeeze a 8.00 but it would rub more then I want. I can get into all the places I go to currently fine. But I am wanting to put the 26's on for Summer and fall hunting, I have some beaches and soft terrain that I want the extra flotation for. Especially when hauling a moose out. I was quoted $1800 for the fork alone by airglas which is all I need. BUT DAMN.

Is the block you have for the cessna HD fork?

If so I think the bolt pattern is different anyway. Might not fit?

Might be worth a try to give copper river airmotive a call 907-822-4004
