WTB: Early 180/182 Spinner Dome (0752004-2)

Anyone have an old 180 spinner dome laying around in the hanger preferably in decent condition without massive dents/cracks, etc? I have the backplate & fillets so just looking for the dome. This is the early short, blunt nose spinner that was stock on the early ('53 - '60 and maybe later) models. Fits a C66 prop.

Prop should be back from overhaul shortly and need the spinner to get it back in the air. Let me know what you have.

I have a good spinner dome from a 1962 182F with a McCaulley prop. Please feel free to call me at 308-390-5974.

Thanks,
Kent

Believe It or not I have a brand new one! I purchased it from an old FBO going out of business with the intention of using it on a 57 180 project. The plan is to go with a three blade so it is surplus to my needs.

I have one too....if those other options don't work out for you. Original 1954 180 spinner and plate. In usable but not peachy condition.

Just saw a new old stock spinner on barnstormers, either under C180's or McCauley props.

Just before Bill's post these were not available.... But miraculously several have sprung from the ashes (or hangar dust) like the pheonix on Harry Potter! I guess I must be lucky.... but I think you just need to update your list of "available" used parts, Bill.

Thanks to all who have replied. I think I have found a spinner.

Re: WTB: Early 180/182 Spinner Dome (0752004-2)

New member looking at an old thread. Apologies up front for the noobie approach, but I'm similarly looking for one of the "not available" spinner domes for a '61 C-182D. Based on the age of some of the previous posts, it looks like I missed out on the earlier deals. Anyone else out there with a "saw in a hangar" or "found in a barn" story of one in good shape? My current spinner dome on a McCauley prop model number 2A34C203/90DCA-X (I think it's a -8) looks like it came off a totally different airframe; it's functional but just doesn't "look right" for the airframe so I don't think it's the D-7519-1 part number associated with the actual prop. Appreciate any response, cat calls, "what a dope" replies...

So what does it look like? If it's the really rounded dome spinner like the ones pictured above it is the original Cessna spinner 0752004 which is the correct spinner for the 2a34c203.
If you have a longer pointy spinner with an internal plastic forward support it is most likely the D7519-1 which is also the correct spinner for the 2a34c203. These were installed per a McCauley propeller STC. The prop is on the type certificate but that spinner is not. The STC covers it but it could also be called a minor alteration.
All that said without knowing exactly what u got.

PAMR MX, I believe it's neither - not the nice, shorter rounded look, nor the pointy no-paint shined spinner. It looks fat at the plate and slowly tapers to the point in the front. I'm trying to upload a side profile pick, but I'm a slow learner on the forum's loading procedure after a long work day. If the link here works, it should take you to a picture I uploaded to a forum album.

If not, you can laugh at my ignorance and I'll try again tomorrow. The sheets are calling...

Nice try with the picture.
That is the McCauley STC spinner. I can tell because it extends out a ways before it starts taper to a point. Kinda a hump.
The later model Cessna spinner is much shorter. It also as a straight no hump taper. Does that make sense?
Your kind of spinner looks best and seems less gigantic with a polished aluminum finish.
In my opinion.

A buddy of mine is looking for a replacement spinner for his 54 180.
How much you asking for your spinner(s)?
You can email me if you wanna keep it offline or off this thread.

Re: WTB: Early 180/182 Spinner Dome (0752004-2)

Yep. Perfect sense. I think the original owner (one prior to the gentleman from whom I bought it) put that one on and didn't care too much about matching the dark blue paint with the original paint on the fuselage and wings - it looks like a Krylon sort of paint job... If I can take that coat off without damaging the finish on the spinner itself, I might go the route you're suggesting. It would free up money for more necessary upgrades - over the shoulder front harnesses, interior fixes, avionics panel, etc.

I appreciate the look and the new information - I wasn't aware that that particular spinner was actually meant for that McCauley prop - it just isn't that...aesthetically pleasing...sitting out front like a huge schnoz when compared to other models.

John, thanks for the look and offer. PAMR MX's gouge on the McCauley STC will likely put me in the hangar taking the paint off and shining it up. Nice, friendly group of folks in this community. I appreciate the patience and education.

I have another one I just found off of a 64 182. I just posted both of them on eBay. I bet they'd look good on your bird!
