Ive seen a couple of nice Champs on Facecrook recently. Good value, under 30k for nice looking planes.

Might be a tall order considering how expensive stuff’s gotten… One of these might be avail in the sub-60 range.

There are a few other junkyard helicopter builds in similar parts of the world that don’t end as well, one in India a think the poor bastard got ejected due to the bucking, ejected up….

Pretty cool but burns a little too much fuel for a time builder! Looking for a straight tail 172 or a 170A/B. Maybe another taildragger, ive seen most of whats listed on the sites but was curious if anyone knew of a word of mouth plane for sale that would fit my needs. Lotta junk out there on the big site for top dollar

There is (as of 4 days ago) a Bearhawk Patrol listed on Barnstormers for $95K

A couple of Rans on Barnstormers too, one S-20 and one S7S if you are will ing to go experimental

I have a 57 C-172 I will be selling in a couple months after my brother n law gets his private with it. Around 4000 TT. 800SMOH. I have gone through the entire plane. I bought it as a project. List of things done:

New aileron cables, on rudder cable, one trim cable.
New paint - not perfect
Engine had different Std/Std crank installed due to a prop strick 20 years ago that was not documented. new rod/main bearings. all new gaskets - No Leaks:-)
Overhauled Mags,Carb,Generator
New spinner
New engine baffling
New Panel with new Par200B COM/Audio Panel, updated garmin 327 audio panel, AV-30, New wiring for all those things. New antennas and cables.
New headliner and carpet
New glass in the doors and rear windows
new tires
new 406 ELT
new brake rotors.

I will be listing for $60k

No offense, but if you find one for your $60K budget it will most likely require a bit of work. 170B prices have skyrocketed. As have 172's.

I friend just finished refurbishing one, installed and O-360 and I think it is sold without even advertising it. Asking price was $180K!!! The lookers didn't even bat an eye!

Have you considered anything in the experimental category? Definitely will open up more options.

Maybe tell us what your experience is. Is this your mission plane? Are you going to train in it for your certificate(s)?

Lots of 170B sold in the 55-75 range in the last year. Im not looking for a Garmin decked out one
basic panel, mid time engine. ok paint. Experimental might be worth a look.

Commercial Multi/single looking to build time, maybe get my CFI.

I have a totally restored 7FC nosewheel champ coming up forsale in a few weeks. 3 hrs sense total restoration, all new wood, interior newer style champion panel and a C90 with light weight starter and alternator. Engine is going back together right now, there was slight pitting on the cam. New cam and lifters.

My 172 will be available around EAA. let me know if it trips your trigger n you want more info.
