Young Eagle Flights

Just got back from my first flight with EAA Young Eagles. I took up 4 middle school age kids who are part of my aviation club at the school I teach at. Flew out of Hemet with some great weather.

I really encourage you all to join EAA and be a part of this. Both the parents and kids were stoked about it. Something they will never forget. Hopefully a few will persue aviation is some way or at least have a great respect for it.

It really is a great thing for the kids and a positive experience for them and their parents at their local airport. I always hope if our little airport gets eyeballed for a park that enough of the voters will have a sentimental attachment to it to stop it.

I was actually surprised at how excited the parents were. They had so many questions (positive) and were thrilled to allow their child to have this opportunity. These are the programs that are going to keep the public support GA. I only gave a ride to four kids but I can only imagine how many people they have all ready told.

Titus577..I've been flying Young Eagles for over 15 years now. It still amazes me the smiles you can get on young folks faces..and the parents!

I fly Young Eagles as well...awesome program! I took up a troubled foster kid once and I'll never forget the look on his face..... right after I blew a tire and wound up in the dirt off the side of the runway =D>
