“$100 burger” in Port Alsworth, Alaska!

If you’re flying through the Lake Clark Pass, stop by Port Alsworth and get a burger!

Samaritan’s Purse is operating a food truck for the community. Their prices are actually decent for a bush village. $10 gets you a burger, chips and a can of soda. $6 for a milkshake.

It’s on the northeast end of the big runway (1000’ from the approach end of 24L).

I stopped through there on Tuesday for lunch on the way to King Salmon. Maybe it’s a way for Samaritan’s Purse to provide food since they purchased the General and took away that option. The staff working the truck is amazingly friendly and the food is good. My wife and I had grilled cheese sandwiches with chips....$5! We also had a strawberry milkshake made fresh with real berries. I recommend the shakes. While we were eating, the Everts fuel C-46 landed and stopped shorter than me with the husky. My friend Joe was on board and we chatted while fuel trucks filled their bellies.

The food truck hours are M-Sa, Noon to 6pm.

No more food at the General? I was there a few years ago and enjoyed the food. Good to hear there is another option for a lunch break. I expect to drop in in July sometime.

Here's a photo of the sign at the General.

And of course some video of the C-46.

LMAO, how close the quad, kids, and side by side are as the DC-3 lands. To cool!
