If you haven't been to Ohio, maybe you should give it a try? It's not your father's Ohio anymore.

OHIO - Round on the ends, and hi in the middle.

Can't wait to see the 2012 video! Been awhile since a new OBP or Swingle video

Re: 16th Annual Ohio Bush Planes / Graham Field Fly-In

Today I just landed at a couple of uncharted West Virginia strips and met the owner of both. We are all invited when we "do West Virginia" in October.

As an update, the East Tennessee fly-in is canceled for this year. So we have our focus on setting the world record for the most planes landing in the most places ever, in one week in West Virginia..

One of those two uncharted strips is at the beginning - around (00:43) in this slide show video.

Here is one more reason to show up at Graham Field (OH82) for the Ohio Bush Planes Fly-IN.

To watch this bad boy operate. https://vimeo.com/49725088

Re: 16th Annual Ohio Bush Planes / Graham Field Fly-In

We had a seven ship "recon" trip to set up the post fly-in, fly-out. It is a fly-out to West Virginia the following week. Dates Oct 15th-21stt. The mountains will be in their peak fall colors. We have some really cool grass strips lined up that are rarely used and they have excellent camping possibilities along branches and forks of the Potomac River. I believe they are all in the 2,000ft range. No less then 1,800ft.

There is Heaven's Landing where you can rent cabins with everything of comfort. The other camp sites along pure clear streams could be fished if you are into that.

Millstone BBQ is a bar restaurant with a strip out back along the stream. It is all good, just pray for good weather. jg

Re: 16th Annual Ohio Bush Planes / Graham Field Fly-In

Things you will get at Graham Field’s Ohio Bush Plane fly-in, that you can’t get at Alice’s Restaurant.
1. Free food, including the famous open fire bean soup.
2. Greg Swingle movies.
3. At least 20 different unmarked runways within one mile.
4. Another 30 unmarked runways within a 20 mile radius.
5. Gravel bars.
6. Your chance of becoming a Swingle movie star.
7. Low level P-51 fly-bys, (not like the New Holstein P-51 fly-bys).
8. You can join up on the Tracy & Swingle West Virginia discovery expedition.
9. T-shirts
10. It will be the "peak color" week in SE Ohio and West Virginia too.

NOTE:
1. Bring your tie downs and ropes.
2. Tent and sleeping gear.
3. A camp chair if able.
4. A towel, showers available.
5. Cincinnati & Detroit sectionals cover everyplace, or follow someone?

CONTACT INFO:
1. John Graham 740-215-5670
2. Bill Tracy 440-452-6259
3. Greg Swingle 303-803-4119

This is probably one of the funnest fly-ins I've ever been to.

Re: 16th Annual Ohio Bush Planes / Graham Field Fly-In

I have had some requests for B&Bs and motels near by Graham Field (OH82).

B&B's
Apple Butter B&B 740-622-1329
Dresden House 740-754-3760
Dresden Victorian 740754-2231

Motel's
Village Inn 740-622-9455

A few folks who couldn't make our fly-in wanted to meet up in West Virginia for the Wild Wonderful tour.
A gathering place for those not going to the Graham Field fly-in in Ohio, but still want to “do” WV the following week would be Hales Landing (2WV3) south of Parkersburg on Monday 15th mid morning.

Here are the camping sites:

We're dipping into the private reserves for the Fly-In faithfuls. We'll be screening long version of this video at the Fly-In:

Just came back from a flight around the area. The scenery is going to be in full color for the fly in.

Weather report for the Ohio - West Virginia fly-in.

Partly sunny to mostly sunny, except a chance of a scattered storm sunday. Temps in the 60's and 70's. Fall colors will be getting to their peaks by this weekend.

Re: 16th Annual Ohio Bush Planes / Graham Field Fly-In

I'm mucho jealous. I need to buy something so I can come out and play :(

I grew up in OH and did my first 13 hrs or so in a cub at Stewart's, so I'm always stoked to see so much bush plane goodness happening up there.

Any news on the TN end of the fly out? I'd like to show up and meet some people, either by way of the roads, or a kick @$$ rental 150.

Re: 16th Annual Ohio Bush Planes / Graham Field Fly-In

There is no fly in at Elizabethton this year. We are going to end up in the North East part of WV at 4WV4.

Arrrgh. That's 22 miles farther from me than Graham field. Maybe I'll make it up that way next year...
