170 c145 oil pan
Lycoming, Continental, Hartzell, McCauley, or any broad spectrum drive system component used on multiple type.
Looking at a c170 with a 145. Oil is leaking around the carb. Owner thought it’s the push rod seals, I’m guessing it’s the oil pan.
Are the pans easy to find and will the o300 pan work?

There are two different pans. 3 bolt and 5 bolt. Past that, they are all the same....95% sure on that without checking the IPC
But they are kind of rare to find without pinholes like the one you have.
Post in the 170 Facebook Group that you're looking for one. Might get lucky.
This is a 3 bolt but it has a coating that may or may not be approved. There is an approved coating but I know nothing about it.

Thanks, it has a 5 bolt from what I can see.
I bought the plane, 170b. Plan to pull the motor and replace all the seals gaskets and hoses. Only 800 hours on it so would like to get some time out of it before I go to a o360.

I have the O-300-D on my 170B and had the oil sump pinhole in front of the carb that the OP describes. My sump could not be repaired but I was able to get a serviceable sump and have it epoxy coated at Okanogan Aero Engine. I recommend you give them a call and see if they can source a sump for your C-145.
