182/206 Heavy Duty Wheel Pants
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
My 182H had the option of 8.00x6 mains, with the 6.00x6 nose wheel, and I'm planning on upgrading to those sizes. I already got the 206 fork, axle, etc. I likely will leave the wheel pants off, but thought it would be nice to have a set of the heavy duty oversized pants that I could put on the plane if I wanted. I recall that they were pretty common on the 206 through the 60s & 70s also. I was just curious if anybody knew of a set getting dusty in a hanger somewhere.

In all honesty, either go pants or not. Leaving the backing plates on can lead to trouble. I've seen a few things bent up because they got rocks caught in there...

That's a good point. I was just thinking that bigger tires and pants would kind of be the best of both worlds, unless a guy got in the gumbo
mud !

We just put some on a customer's 206. The pants are so wide that we have to build quite a large fill plate. Even with that in, I can't see them making very much difference. But they did fit over the 8.00 no problem.
