182 heavy duty nose fork
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
Howdy Everyone,
I have looked through all the past talk on the 182 heavy duty nose fork install(not the landis) & I was wondering here if anyone might have a field approved copy of a 337 for the install. I am in the process of P Ponking a 182 & we want to make it a bit more backcountry friendly with some bigger tires not to mention some more prop clearance for the new 3 blade.

Don't need field approval. It is a superseeded part number with log book entry. An A&P can sign off. Don't expect much help from Feds, they have severe lack of experience and is easy to say no. Seattle or Anchorage may still have knowledge pool and worth phone call.

Some models do require a FA. Not all the models listed the HD fork as an option. I think all the straight tails and some of the early 60's models require a FA. I have a 66 which lists the HD as an option so the logbook entry is adaquate.

Is a HD nose fork listed as an option in your parts manual for your aircraft? Can you find an orignal HD for it? If not for either you will need a FA. I believe that a 310 nose fork ass. can be used as a substute.
