182B just named best all arround

A famous flyer just named the 182B the best all arround plane bar none. That flyer would be T H Avery. Just kidding, I am T H Avery. Figured this would be a good way to anounce the news.

As I have posted in the past, I wanted to end my seven year partnership in the plane. We had our meeting this morning and I am now the sole owner of it. Now I am out of the shopping mode and do not have to decide between a Maule, Stinson, 170, Scout, 180 etc, etc.

Am looking forward to flying when I want and to where I want. Er, ah, I mean when Sharon gives me the OK.

Looking forward to seeing some of you this sumer.

Anybody thinking about getting into a partnership, PM me and I will give you my take. Overall it worked well but I will shed a little light on the downsides.

partnership

I had a partner on my 120 when i first bought it but i was lucky enough to find a non pilot who thought airplanes were a good investment. I had a contract that stated i could buy it out for a spesified intrist rate or sell it and split the profit.
It worked out verry well he made about $3000 and i bought it out and sold it 2 years later , put about 300h on it for free!
I did get lucky on seling before the exchange rate made the price of planes drop in Canada.

That must be true because I heard the same thing in several places. Oh! yea, and I fly a 182B myself. I have flown it for 12 years and have put about 1200 hours on it since I have owned it. I purchased it in 1992 and it took me 3 years in my spare time to get it flying. I love that old Cessna and have taken it everywhere. Some one wrote on one of the forums the other day you take it where some guys won't take there TW airplanes. If we agree it must be the best plane flying. :)

Well for sure a set up 182B will definatly go a lot of places that an RV6 will not go. That is as bold as I care to get.

Hey Tim...

David Silva says you should spend more time plumbing and less time flying. Dave has a pilot's certificate from his Alaska days 30 years ago, so you need to get him up and dusted off.

Thats right we had two Cessna 182Bs at the pumps at the same time. We had just been to a College of Idaho getogether at Lowell, which is just above Kooskia, Id. Thanks for putting the name with my airplane. I wish I had that extended baggage you had in your 182. Bob

Ha! What a coincidence.

Congrats Tim on sole ownership. The B is a good bird. Have about 20 hours in one, and about 200 on my C model.

See ya, Bub

Robert "Bub" Wright, aka Skylane, passed away in November of 2011. He was a beloved community member and will be missed.

Tim,

You really need to rethink your decision, and get a Maule--any kind of Maule. Your title for this thread may have a number of members of this list in a complete rage..... watch out!! :-$

Congratulations, in any case, and enjoy it--the 182 IS in fact, a heck of an airplane.
