1975 Piper Cherokee 180 Brake Problem
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
Howdy...............
A friend of mine has a 1975 Cherokee 180 with brake problems. The whole system has been overhauled and seams to have air or something in the system. Are there any special procedures to bleed a Cherokee 180 brake system that are different from other models of aircraft? The Cherokee brakes functioned OK about 3 week ago, not flown for 3 weeks, and attempted to use today. The left brake functioned and the right brake was non-functional. Any suggestions? These problems also existed prior to the brake system overhaul.

Cherokee's can be nasty to bleed sometimes. Best from the bottom up, with a pressure pot, or with a speed bleeder top to bottom.
Sounds like the dyna seal is damaged in the master cylinder, so you get to pull the masters again.
I usually just pull the guts out, and leave the cylinder bolted in, saves a bit of work.

You could have a problem with pin hole in the line some place. Or a loose fitting. Check for brake fluid running down the lines.

Thanks for your inputs. Looks like the Cherokee has some unique brake issues. I'll pass on your suggestions.
