I just brought back from Medford ,Oregon a 1980 Cessna 182 for Michael Bjerke .It has a C&S Turbo and decked out to the 9's .Flew good with turbo producing good power .Were going to be removing engine -prop-and turbo for overhaul. Engine is high time but still ran good.

Cool. Wish you had told me you were in town Bill. I would have liked to meet you. Any chance you will be in Modesto on Saturday for the fly in?

Total time in Oregon this time was 1 hour 20 min. then on to 1o5 to meet Tim Avery . Went to Tim Avery's for evening and departed early next (yesterday )morning. I'm pretty backed up to go to Modesto but do have another trip to Oregon in near term for another 182 inspection-prebuy . Found several good candidates(airplane -not political) along the way.1980 Cessna Skylane flys different than my old 56. Lot heaver on the controls >climbs great with the turbo -I generally flew it like a 182 and it did very well -little heavy on fuel burn like 15 gallons a hour even with power pulled back to 22 inches and 2300 rpm. At 10K i was truing about 130-134 knots at about 60% power . Engine is high time but didn't burn any oil -or blow any . Started with 10 1/2 quarts and after 5-6 hours showed the same. Engine is Fuel injected and a bit of a problem to start hot .It's all coming off firewall forward and being "0" timed . It will be a excellent cross country bird at high altitude .92 Gallons on board will give it long legs .Now I got to go to work.

I am curious what the sale price on those both are?

Listing my own 182 in the next day or so.

TURBO CHARGED IO-470 one of 30 ever built .Pulls 30 inches of MP at 14,000 msl .That's as high as I went over Sierra Climbs like a home rocket . Should do Sea level to over 18,000 .

Hmmm, why fly a turbo 182 at 23"? 60%??? of stock? what's the point of the turbo?
Just thinking out loud since I currently can't fly.
Sorry.

Built by whom? not Cessna
Peterson had the IO stc for years may have sold it. Or is it a Canadian bird.
30" at 14000 is a pretty weak for a turbo, my Commander pulls 42" at 14000 and 38" at 20,000

The 182 must just be turbo normalized, an add on

He did stay at my place Wed night. It is a turbo add on. Ray Jay or somthing like it. Had two exhaust pipes on the same side. Really nice looking plane with a really good stack of avionics.

For those that are leveraged out financialy (what all the smart people said to do five years ago) the first thing that has to go is the expensive toys. As some get closert to loosing their house, the price of toys goes down. Reallity can sometimes suck.
