Re: 2/26/2011 Pair 'O Lakes Ski Plane Fly-In. Spooner WI

I took a look at the lake Saturday & there was no snow on the lake at all. The good thing was that there is very little ice fishing or snowmobile activity & there are no ridges/ruts in the ice except near the landing on the north end. We got about 5 inches now & the forecast shows some more for Friday & sunny Saturday. Because of the strong winds during the snowfall it looked like there were still some bare ice areas on the lake, might be able to get a wheel plane in safely. I'll post another update Friday with current conditions.

Landed out on the lake today to check out the snow. There's about 2-3 inches on the ice & no drifts. Landed on skis & wheels both and had no trouble.
