A student pilot and a flight instructor are at the hospital tonight after their airplane crashed at Boeing Field.

According to Boeing Field's Rochelle Ogershok, the twin engine Piper was attempting to take off at 7:30 p.m. when the crash happened.

The plane took off from the short runway and was briefly airborne before coming back down and hitting an unmanned parked plane.

The Piper flipped over and both planes caught fire. The student pilot, who is described as being a man in his 20s, and an instructor, a woman in her 30s, were able to escape the wreckage with only minor injuries, according to Kyle Moore of the Seattle Fire Department.

Been a rough year for Hillsboro Aviation with the fatal mid-air. Especially their Piper Senecas.

Rough year for sure.
I think this is the same plane involved in the midair, taken earlier this year.

Re: 2 injured in Boeing Field plane crash

Maybe Hillsboro should reassess their training strategies?
