Re: 2012 Great Northwest Air Race

There was a guy at Chelan last year in some sort of little race aircraft who wanted to use us as one of the stops. I don't know what came of it, I hope the managment didn't tell him to take a hike.

I have done time speed distance rally's in very slow cars and one very slow bikes and won my class. This sounds like the same sort of deal. If the Champ is flying by then (really really hope so) I may enter. Any one else out there have anyingthing that would fit into an 80 MPH cruise class that wants to do it? It would be more interesting if we can have some slow motion wing to wing speed battles.

Re: 2012 Great Northwest Air Race

In 2010 and 2011 GNAR was run out of Wenatchee, north to Anderson, then Mansfield, Quincy and back to Wenatchee. With a change in race organizers (me) comes a change in venue. I'm hoping to increase participation in 2012, so please feel free to ask any questions or provide comments.

The pre-registration page should be up in February, and I'll be keeping an updated list of who's in and type of aircraft. If you're interested in taking part, go ahead and register, often people wait to see who and what else may be there before taking the leap themselves, not wanting to be the only one in a class.

Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process... :)
With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).

Do yo have a flyer for it, maybe in PDF format so I can print a few and try to talk a few Chelan guys into it?

2012 Great Northwest Air Race

I will have a flyer before the end of February, in time for the aviation conference in Puyallup. There are two more NW races, one in Idaho and one in Montana. I'm waiting for those two organizers to get me their logos and I'll be creating the flyer.

Re: 2012 Great Northwest Air Race

Pre-registration is open!

Currently there are 3 RV's, a Whitman Tailwind, one Pitts and an Ercoupe registered! That pretty much covers the speed spread from 100 to 200! Come join the fun!

I would like to get some numbers to the sponsors early so they can plan appropriately for t-shirts and food. There is also registration for the volunteers! I want to make sure I get a good count of them as well.

So... If you feel that you may be coming to GNAR III, please pre-register so I have information I need to provide.

Thanks!
