Weather can be great and or a Bitch, all in multiple examples often in the same day!!
When there is a low in the interior and a high in the gulf or off shore, Hang on to your ass on the lee side of the Mtns and hang on in the draws!! Had 87 knts in a Seneca 11 once for over a hungred miles, finished up on the other side at almost 300 kts on the last bit of the trip!!
Vorticees just below the ridges out sometimes 1/2-10 miles when it's ugly
Sometimes 2 miles off shore is a sweet ride and anycloser makes you wish you were on the ground!!

I hear you on the FCC license. Pretty sad.
There were gusts to 75kts on the Canadian coast (ground level) today. That is classified as hurricane strength!
July is the driest month from what read, this may help me.
Thank you George for the comments.
SPENT QUITE AWHILE AROUND YAKUTAT, 75 MPH IS JUST A GOOD BLOW, GETS REAL SCARY WHEN IT GETS UP AROUND 100.
YA NEVER HEAR ABOUT HURRICANE FORCE WINDS UP THERE!! PRETTY COMMON!
Just watch the winds, I believe that is the worst part of the weather up the beach, also after you leave Port Hardy not much but tall rocks and trees on the beach.
Left Prince Rupert once in a 185 and could not get up over 4000' as every time I got up there ran into Ugly vortices!! Tried to force it and got tumbled!!?? Said the hell with it and snuck up the river under the clouds with a couple hundred foot ceiling all the way to Smithers, calm as could be!!
Be carefull watch your ass and have fun!
If you hit it about right it will be one of the most BEAUTIFUL FLIGHTS you'll ever take!!
