Not necessarily information about airstrips or airports, but more general info about a greater area or a route of flight.

Let me know if you head up to Skagway, especially if you will need fuel. We have 100LL, but getting it can be tricky.

Hi Chris,

Mahalo! Fueling and tie downs in AK, BC takes some planning. I have been very lucky so far. Is there a good transit ramp with tie downs too?

Never been to Skagway. The town has a colorful history however from what I have read.

Fly safe!

Yes, lots of ramp space.

Petrol Marine used to bring fuel over in a 55 gal drum and let you pump it out. Insurance made them quit. So now you get to shlep it over in gas cans, which they dont supply. If there was more need, i would put a tank in the back of the truck and go into business, but we don't get many transients and i'm sure the regulatory issues would be a nightmare  .

Thank you for the heads up.

I know what regulations can do, Honolulu Airport is now pretty much for billionaires only who can afford a team of lawyers to get "Stuff" done. There are over 50 Part 135 operators on the GA ramp (mostly private individuals with inter-con jets).

Picture below (circa June 2015):
There was a fuel outage at Bella Bella, BC. Gave a guy $50.00 CND for a truck and went to Denny Island marine which has 100LL for seaplanes. Shaker siphon works great (Australians taught me this trick long ago):
