Re: 2017.06.21 Alaska; packing, planning, pre-flight

Just my opinion - but you can save some weight by ditching the jump pack/compressor thing.

If you want a jumping battery, you can grab one of those new micro-start or anti-gravity doo-dads. And if you need to electrically pump some air, grab a cheap cigar lighter receptacle operated pump from napa. You can probably find or make a cigar-lighter receptacle adapter for the little jump battery, or just use the one in your plane if it has one. I've got a little compressor like this that has successfully aired every tire on my plane multiple times. Weighs ounces and fits in my passenger seat-back. I don't have a jump battery, so I just use my plane's cigar lighter receptacle.

"Roger that". The "All in One" is/are staying home. I re-analyzed the "unit", it is a no go. Agreed.

Thank you for your input.

Transponder check today. Last maintenance item before I am free to head North:

I departed at 06:30 PDT heading across the "Coastal Mountains" to KCVO (Corvallis Aero Avionics). Everything I have is yellow this morning, even my breakfast bananas:

The InReach has been a little "Buggy" lately. Back and forth from Mainland to Hawaii left some weird tracks. InReach working good today:

Corvallis Aero has always been a great group of folks who do fast and accurate work! Matt is very good and what he does. He showed me a picture from his 2015 Kauai Charter catching a magnificent 180LBS Ahi (Yellow Tail)! Of course I showed him my photo of a Mahi from May.

I visited Tyler's Memorial. How fragile we all are.

Heading to WalMart for last minute items...
