Flew to Cape Blanco from Newport. Incredibly beautiful if you like ocean scenery and huge sand dunes. Plenty of “OGLZ” (Off Grid Landing Zones).

I believe 2nd “Contiguous” (CONUS). Interesting “...except Cape Alava, in Washington...”, I checked the distance to Hawaii. The Rhumb line is the approximate same distance (+90 NM) to Makapuu Lighthouse, Oahu as from Angles Gate Lighthouse, Los Angeles Harbor. Oregon is as close to Hawaii as certain southerly portions of California.

Jerry Trimbal and staff are really enjoyable to work with. Mr. Trimbal was recommended by an USCG H65 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurocopter_HH-65_Dolphin pilot from North Bend Air Station, who is a friend of mine. He participated in the Annual Autorotation Contest this year and had a great time at Jerry’s.

Very appreciative of the people I’m meeting in Oregon related to helos. Oregon is a helo friendly place from my experience so far.
