2020.02.12 Flight (latent uploading)

It takes strength and fortitude to beat the air into submission.

2020.02.12 Flight (latent uploading)

My T-Mobile connection was very unresponsive the last few days (still is :x ). Short YouTube videos are taking hours to upload. Anyway, I promised Mary I would make a video of us flying together. The video is really truncated because anything longer gets dropped on my poor T-Mobile connection.

Taxing in a fixed wing is pretty much a chore for me. But, taxing a helo is rather fun, both air taxi and hover taxi. Takes practice and gives a sense of accomplishment.

We can see Jim Parker's dynamic proactive nibble in the cyclic hand. What we can't see, in the video, is the anti-torque pedals dynamic proactive nibble, the collective hand dynamic proactive nibble, and the throttle rolled on with each dynamic up collective nibble and off with each dynamic down collective nibble.

Hover is as much fun as riding a unicycle.

More places to park the aircraft when we can hover safely! Good analysis Jim. I’m thankful for the people that took the time to instruct me. Thankful to the factory and the mechanics. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes to making a pilot look half way decent.

I love the R44 for all of the above.
