2022 Great Alaskan Aviation Gathering

As of now, I'm planning on flying into the FFS (Fair Field Strip) on Saturday morning. I've signed up for the Show & Shine, Duct Tape Masterpiece category :D. Anyone else planning on going? If you see me, feel free to come up an introduce yourself!

I'll be flying in on Saturday and camping near runway 10. Hoping to have a fire going Saturday night. Would be great to meet some fellow backcountry pilots.

I’ll be there, if Alaska will be flying.

Hey, congrats. Looks like you got your Maule!

Sadly, this will be another year not attending for me. Maybe I can drag @Ross4289 with me up there next year.

We ended up camping out there by runway 10 in our van, I didn't even think about that being you a little bit further down. I was totally confused on where to camp at the airport until I saw y'all roll up. I still felt like some airport personnel was going to tell us to leave, but it ended up fine.

Re: 2022 Great Alaskan Aviation Gathering

I wasn't sure I would make it this year. We had been Hawaii all week and our flight back from HNL to ANC landed this morning at 0500. We got no meaningful sleep on the plane, of course. So we grabbed an early breakfast at the only place that was open near us (Dennys) and drove to Palmer where we slept in our car for a couple of hours before the show opened. It was a good show this year and I ran into many friends. I spotted MTV within a few minutes of our arrival and had a brief chat. The decent weather was a factor. Tried not to spend money but that was a fail.

I’m planning to go to the 2023 gathering next weekend. Haven’t heard much talk about it this year. I’ll keep a look out for the regulars.
