2nd Annual Clear Creek Fly-In? Saturday October 3rd.

Hello Backcountry Pilots,

I am tentatively planning the 2nd Annual Clear Creek Fly-In for October 3rd. This depends on the forest fires, TFRs and weather. Anyway last year we had 13 airplanes and a real good time. I will provide a BBQ lunch on Saturday Oct 3rd. There is a 435 foot zip line, limited camping near the creek on our property and the addition of a new jeep/courtesy car.

Landing at my airstrip is challenging so I mark out a runway on my neighbor's hay field. If anyone wants to join us please RSVP so we can plan accordingly, ie: food & booze.

Hey Rob,

It wouldn't be the same without you. The new jeep will be a good addition at Clear Creek, make moving people and gear from the other airstrip easier. I'm driving the jeep down from Spokane today. That will make for a long day as the "Franken-jeep kind of has a mind of it's own. The fire pit is bigger and better this year. The house is coming along too.

Anyway it should be a good time again this year with plenty to eat and drink.

I would like to attend again if I could, and God willing the smoke situation will be over soon.

I'd land in the hayfield if I could, and it conditions there are as good as they were last year.

Great fun, and we all appreciate your hospitality.

Hello Doc,

We have had three days of soaking rain at Clear Creek. It was very much needed around here with all the local fires. Doc I hope you can make it again this year, and feel free to bring your shooting irons too. The jeep will make a good shuttle vehicle for airplanes landing at the upper pasture. Several salmon were negotiating their was upstream at Clear Creek this weekend.

The long range forecast is looking really good. Really looking forward to seeing everyone. Thanks for doing this James. Best kept secret on BCP. The small fly in's are my favorites.

Who else is coming?

Cheers...Rob

Re: 2nd Annual Clear Creek Fly-In?

Hey Rob,

The pictures of your new jeep makes my $1000 "Franken Jeep" look pretty sad. I put a tow bar on my jeep planning on pulling it to Pacific City for the kids next spring break. The forecast looks good and am finally enjoying the improvements at Clear Creek. The smoke is gone! There might be an additional another Super Cub and Cessna 180 landing at my airstrip besides the regulars. Next Thursday I'll mow a strip up on the upper field and mark it with orange contractors paint.

Anyway looking forward to spending time with good friends, eating good food, and enjoying some cocktails too.

James

Weather for the weekend is looking really good! I'm planning on Friday arrival if your around. If not I'll camp at JC.

James, I don't know if you saw this post.

My new to me Pacific City Jeep.

I bought a Jeep up grade. 1994 YJ 4.0 5 speed, ARB air lockers front and back, slip yoke eliminator, 4" Rubicon lift, 33X 12.5 tires, hard top, 4.56 Yukon gears, Smitty Built bumpers, winch, tire carrier, flat fenders and more.

The last owner put a butt load of money into this street queen. He never wheeled it. Like most builds he lost 50% of the $$$ His loss is my gain.

Now I got to sell my little red Jeep.

Re: 2nd Annual Clear Creek Fly-In? Saturday October 3rd.

The time has arrived.

I'm headed to Madras today around noon. I have a few little lobs to do on the home.

Friday morning I'll make the 2 hour flight to Clear Creek. ETA 11-12. I hope to see some of you there.

This is a really great fly in and we are fortunate James puts this on. It takes a fair amount of effort to do this. Thanks James.

Anyone who wants to join me, you are welcome to.

Cheers...Rob
